The great hunter

This is Travis's deer that he got this year. He got it in October when he went with his dad and brother. He's pretty proud of it.

(He looks real happy in the pic, dosen't he)
He never looks real thrilled in pictures

Fall/pumpkins

This past weekend we were able to go to Riverton to visit family and friends. Of course we had to go to the pumpkin patch. It was so windy that Travis stayed in the car with Makayla, and the rest of us went to pick out pumpkins. Mason had a great time, of course.

It's been awhile

We have had a busy few months. I just haven't made the time to post much. Makayla started crawling in September, she is now almost 9 months old, I can't believe it. Mason's 3rd birthday will be here on Sunday, I can't believe that either! Time is going to fast. This year we grew a lot of awesome tomatoes. We had peas and lettuce in June. Carrots and yellow squash did good in Aug/Sep. Our corn was mostly eaten by grasshoppers, we did eat about 3 ears, they didn't grow very big, but were pretty good.

At Makayla's 6 month check up she weighed 17 pounds and was 27 1/2 inches long. She is sitting up by herself now and scooting everywhere.

Keeping busy

She had a black eye in this picture, don't think you can see it. Mason threw a toy at her.

At the park.

He was kissing her belly and making her laugh.

Her first bite of cereal. She didn't know what to think at first.

It seems like this summer is just flying by! Another month has gone by and I haven't posted much. Maybe it's because not much exciting things go on here, just normal, everyday life. We have gone to the park a lot for Mason to play. Also to the carnival for rides and the fair. And Mason really enjoyed the fireworks for the Fourth. Makayla is now 6 months old. We go in Wednesday for her check-up. She will be crawling very soon, I think. She gets up on her knees and hands, just hasn't taken off yet. She's been on cereal and baby food for two months now, she likes that.Thats been it so far this summer, who knows if we will get out fishing or camping again this year. Travis is, of course, ready for hunting season.

Meadowlark lake

Last week we headed up to Meadowlark lake to do some fishing and have a picnic. We had a lot of fun, caught a lot of fish and I got fried, of course. My main goal was keeping the kids from getting sunburned, but I just didn't keep up with the sunscreen on myself. Mason loved fishing and chasing the chipmunks around that were hanging around were we ate lunch.

Makayla was such a happy baby that day.

Mason and daddy with all the fish we caught. I think we had 12, a mix of rainbow and other species of trout.

Mason kissing one of the fish. Goofy boy!

Daddy and Mason reeling one in.

Makayla and her sunbonnet. (Leah, I think that bonnet was in with the clothes you sent over from Alauna.)

Kayla's getting big!

Last week Makayla had her 4-month check-up and shots. She weighed in at 15 pounds, 2 ounces- in the 76 percentile and she was 26 inches tall, which is the 95 percentile.

Handsome and beautiful

Just wanted to post some pics of the kids! Mason is really being a stinker lately when it comes to pictures. He won't let me take any of him. It's been awhile since I've gotten a really good one of him. He likes to pose next to Makayla, but only for a split second.

Someone need a hair-cut or what?

This is Mason's hair as of a week ago. His hair is really thick and it was just out of control. It has since been cut, and looks much nicer, but, it took Travis and I holding him down while my mother-in-law Karen hacked away. And he put up a fight. My son is a little spitfire and he was not going to do it willingly. Once it was done he got over it pretty quick though.

Travis's fish

On Friday, Travis and his brother Trew went fishing out at Keyhole and Travis caught an 11-pound Walleye. He is quite proud of it and is probably going to have it mounted, which then he will insist on hanging on my wall, ughhhhh! He already has one of his deer mounts up. (oh, joy!)

Busy, busy, busy

I haven't been posting for awhile, this past month has been pretty busy. We were able to make a trip down to Riverton a few weeks ago to see Stuart before he goes over seas. It was nice for him to meet Makayla, he is so good with kids, they just love him!
I've been back to work for awhile now, I've been doing three or four days a week. And whenever I get a spare few minutes, I've been trying to get my transcription course done once. I am almost there, just a few more chapters to do and then a final exam. We also planted a garden about two weeks ago, so we'll see how it does this first year. Makayla hung out in her stroller outside with us and Mason helped put the seeds in the holes. Mason is really warming up to Makayla now. The other day he had one of his dinosaurs out in the living room and he was whacking it with another toy and Makayla was sitting on Travis' lap watching him and just laughing away at him. It was really cute. He thinks it is so neat when she coos at him, he tries to keep her entertained and get her to laugh now. It will be so fun watching them grow up together.

I don't know how to flip this!

Our big girl

Today I took Makayla in for her 2 month checkup. She weighed 12 pounds, 6 ounces and was 24 1/2 inches long. She is in the 75th percentile for weight and 97th for length. Wow! She is growing a lot faster than what Mason did. She also had to get her shots, which didn't seem to bother her that much.

Snowed in

We had a blizzard that came through Sunday night/Monday morning that dumped over a foot of snow on us. We lost power for awhile and it took a few days before we could even get out of the driveway with Travis' truck. Luckily Travis got home off of nights on Monday morning so he didn't have to stay out at the mine for a few days until the roads opened up. They even had to shut down the mine for a few days. We all just stayed home and watched movies.

This is a massive snowdrift on our front lawn.
